Sunchang Classical Music Institute
As the main producer of the half of 8 master great singers of the Joseon Dynasty, Sunchang constructed the classical music institute to inherit Korean sound.
Great Singer Kim Sejong
Birthplace (Gajak, Donggye) of Kim Sejong (1825–1898), master of Dongpyeonje Pansori and Cheonja Dwitpuri from Chunghyangga. He is excellent in critique and theories of Korean traditional narrative song.
Great Singer Jang Ja-Baek
He has a clear and abundant voice and volume. He is the master of the Song of Byeongangsoe and the Song of Chunhyang. The historical site of the great singer Jang Ja-Baek (1829–1906) is at Unlim-ri, Jeokseong-myeon.
Great singer Pack Yu-Jeon (Founder of Seopyeonje)
Daewongun give him the nickname “Jeilgangsan”. The mastersinger Park Yu-Jeon (1834–1904) Maje Village, Seoma-ri, Bokheung-myeon
Great Singer Jang Pan-Gae
Satgatde Village, Geumgwa Yeonhwari of Master Singer Jang Pan-Gae (1885–1937) The Dongpyeonje master received Hyereungchambong letter from the King Gojong for his excellent skill in singing Jangpangyo daejeon from Jeokbyeokga Song and Gunsaseolumsachinga Song.
