Purposes

The festival is the cultural event held for the unity of the Sunchang citizens as they enjoy the cherry blossom in full bloom in April every year. It aims to 'restore the community spirit, helping each other, which is truly required, while all of citizens are essential workers in Sunchang'. 83 Sunchang Alumni Association, the association of graduates from high schools in Sunchang played a key role in starting the festival in 1998. The festival was started as the young residents in their 40s raised the funds for it through heartfelt donations leading to the implementation of the community living together and the provincial government helped their effort.
